This 4 day event includes songwriting seminars including traditional and contemporary Hawaiian Music. Informational workshops will also be presented including Slack Key, Ukulele, Hawaiian language and various legal and music industry classes. There will be one on one meetings with industry professionals, round table discussions with industry executives, a demo derby, songwriting competition, open Mic sessions and evening concerts.
Here is the terrific line up: Po’alima Concert, Friday, July 30, 6 – 9PM at the Kauai Beach Resort, Lihue: Kevin Griffin (of Better Than Ezra); David Pack (of Ambrosia); Bonnie McKee (Indie recording artist & actress who played Janis Joplin in the American Dreams series on NBC); Jason Blume (songwriter with cuts on over 50 million albums worldwide); Jeff Dayton (Nashville songwriter & recording artist who has toured with Kenny Chesney); plus performances by the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners of the KMF Songwriting Competition#### Pau Hana Concert, Saturday, July 31, 6 – 9PM at the Kauai Beach Resort, Lihue: O’Brian Eselu and his multi-award-winning Hula Halau “Ke Kai O Kahiki”!; Rev. Dennis Kamakahi (multiple Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winner and inductee into the Hawaiian Music Hall of Fame!); Kenneth Makuakane and The Pandanus Club (12 time Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winner with the multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning Group!); Charles Brotman (Grammy and Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning artist & producer!); plus performances by the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners of the KMF Songwriting Competition.
GENERAL ADMISSION: $25 for either night or $40 for both nights in advance. $30 at the door the night of the concert (if any tickets remain). SENIORS (60+): $20 for either night or $35 for both nights in advance. $25 at the door the night of the concert (if any tickets remain).
Also participating in the festival is Kumu Hula Obrian Eselu with his famous award winning halau, Ke Kai O Kahiki.
